Mobile Number Portability Service to be Launched tomorrow

Mobile Number Portability Service to be Launched tomorrow
Shri Kapil Sibal to Inaugurate the Service in Rohtak, Haryana

The much awaited Mobile Number Portability (MNP) service will be launched tomorrow in Rohtak, Haryana. The Union Minister of Communications & IT Shri Kapil Sibal with Shri Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Chief Minister of Haryana as the Chief Guest will inaugurate the service at a function in Rohtak at 3 p.m. on 25.11.2010.

A plan for phased migration of networks in all the remaining 22 (excluding Haryana) Licensed Service Areas in the country for working in MNP scenario is being chalked out in consultation with service providers. The detailed program for the entire country will be announced separately.

From tomorrow, mobile phone customers in Haryana Licensed Service Area (LSA) will have the choice of selecting their telecom service provider (operator) with out changing their number, provided a minimum period of 90 days has elapsed after subscription to the mobile service of the current service provider. For change of service provider i.e. porting, a subscriber has to send an SMS (PORTMobile Number) from the number he wishes to be ported, to number 1900 whereby a Unique Porting Code (UPC) will be received on SMS from his current service provider. The subscriber will need to apply in the prescribed application form to the chosen new service provider quoting the UPC which will act as a reference while filling up the application form with new service provider.

The new service provider will then take action to get the required processes completed to enable the subscriber to get connected to his network. Porting has to be completed within 7 working days. Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has put a ceiling of Rs. 19/- on porting charges which the new service provider may collect from the subscriber. Post-paid subscribers before making the porting request, have to make sure that their last bill has been paid failing which the request for change to new service provider shall be rejected. In the case of pre-paid subscriber any balance amount left will not be carried forward when the number is transferred to the new service provider.

Google Apps Users Gets More Google Services

Google Apps Users Gets More Google Services

Now Google aimed the Google Apps service and then it made some amendments in it. Recently Google decided that it will be providing large number of applications to all of its users, which will help then to increase the productivity of their firm. In this post I will be telling you about the new plan implemented by Google and how are the new services of Google Apps distributed among the users.

Google decided that it will be flooding its customers of Google Apps with large number of Applications which will be helpful in increasing the productivity of their business. Now it is obviously understood that the users who were using or dealing with the old application might not be able to adjust themselves with this new interface but then all the old users have been given an option in which they can take their own time to be prepared to face the transition to new infrastructure. The missing part with this new amendment will be the lack of technical support for the applications.
Google has divided their applications into 4 different packages:-
  • Google Apps: A free bundle for all the general users which will contain bulk of applications.
  • Google Apps for Education: These will be consisting of application which might help the educational institutes and organization to help the students in managing their academics and improve them. All the non-profit organizations also come under this category.
  • Google Apps for Government: They have been designed for the Governmental firms.
  • Google Apps for Business: Now this is the most special pack of Google App which will include certain charges for the usage and it will also include the technical support for all the application as all the users will be paying the sum of $50 per year per user. Apart from the technical support they will also be giving several other services which will not be available to the other groups of Google Apps.
In order to help the users to be familiar with the tools everyday they will be telling you about a new application on their Google Enterprise Blog. I really appreciate all the initiatives taken by Google in order to help their users. We will keep you updated with any new changes found related to this news topic or any other topic which is related to it and anyhow if you get to know anything related to the news topics mentioned above then please do not hesitate to share it with us, just put it down in the comments section and if we found it genuine then we will be sharing that piece of information with all the other readers on your behalf, so keep searching something useful and then let us know about it. Till then keep reading, take care of yourself and have a nice day!!!

Add Items, Shortcuts In Right Click Send To Menu

Add Items, Shortcuts In Right Click Send To Menu

More often, there is a need to transfer some of the files and folders to other places of the computer. For this, either we use copy & paste method or use ‘send to’ option present in the right-click menu. The ‘send to’ option is a very convenient way but it contains only few options in it to which we can directly transfer files and folders.

image

Most of us will not be knowing that we can actually enhance the send to menu manually according to our need. Inwindows 9x and xp, it was very easy to achieve it but in windows 7 and vista, it has become a little trickier.

Actually, the items in the Sendto menu are links stored in a folder labeled “Sendto”. The Sendto folder used to be located in the “Documents and Settings” folder under each user name in win 9x and xp but in vista and Windows 7, it is buried deeply in the “UsersYournameAppData” folder, which is normally a hidden folder.

For this, i will suggest you a method to add items in the sendto menu in widows 7 and vista.
at first, you just hold the ‘windows’ key in your keyboard and click ‘R’ key to open the run. Here, write ‘%appdata%’ and click ‘ok’.

image

It will take you to the folder ‘roaming’. But you have to go further in the folder ‘Microsoft’ then, windows’ then, ‘Sendto’ just like this. Here, you will see the shortcuts in the sendto folder. Now, you just have to copy & paste your own shortcuts so that you can do your work smoothly.

image

You can not only add shortcuts to applications, but also shortcuts to folders, drives and network locations. You can even add shortcuts to batch files that will perform specific actions on files.

Also, read about a tool on Add Useful Options To Enhance Send To Menu which will do the same job with just few clicks but still you should know how to do it manually and definitely ‘sendto menu’ is a nice feature when you know about its secrets.

How to Speed Up Gmail

How to Speed Up Gmail

Gmail isn’t slow. If you notice a slow down while loading Gmail, it’s most probably because you have a slow internet connection or other factors from your side that make Gmail load slow. Here we will show you some tricks to speed up Gmail and make it load faster even if you have a slow internet connection.

Turn off the Chat feature in Gmail

Since Google Talk was launched, most of us don’t use the Chat feature in Gmail anymore, instead we will use Google Talk to chat with our Gmail friends. Turning off the Chat feature can reduce the load burden on Gmail and will definitely speed up the loading time on Gmail. To turn off chat feature, login to your Gmail account, scroll to the very bottom, and then click on turn off chat.

Add ?nocheckbrowser argument to Gmail default address

Open Gmail using this address https://mail.google.com/gmail?nocheckbrowser. This will tell Gmail not to check your browser when you open it. This can significantly help to reduce the loading time on Gmail.

Turn off buzz if you don’t need it

Same goes to buzz. If you don’t need the buzz feature, you can simply turn it off to reduce the loading time on Gmail. To turn off the buzz feature, login to your Gmail account, scroll to the very bottom, and then click on turn off buzz.

Switch to Basic HTML Mode

HTML mode sacrifices all fancy AJAX-driven features. However, if you have a slow internet connection, HTML mode can be the most effective way to speed up your Gmail load time. To switch Gmail to HTML mode, login to your Gmail account, scroll to the very bottom, and then click on basic HTML.Remove unwanted emails
If your inbox is filled with excess mails, Gmail will take extra time to load. It’s better for you to delete all unwanted mails as well as spams.

Clear your browser cache

Cleaning up your browser cache regularly can definitely help you in speeding up the browsing speed.

Reduce number of browser’s plugins

As always, a laggy browser usually caused by excessive plugins which have to be loaded every time you start a tab or a window. Reducing number of browser’s plugins can help to load Gmail faster.
gmail reduce number of mails shown each page

Happiness comes not from being loved, but from loving

Happiness comes not from being loved, but from loving

Someone told me once,  bring a gift for everyone, every time you see them. I think this is a great piece of advice.

If you are thinking that this is impossible, realise that giving doesn’t have to involve physical objects. In fact, in my experience, it is better for it not to be. Give a smile or a kind thought, hug a crying friend, open a door for a stranger, work to forgive those who hurt you, say a silent prayer when you drive past an accident. That way, we never run out, and we never get tired.

Why? This is a step towards one of the most transformative spiritual practices of all – the simple decision to be kind, easy-going, and forgiving to everyone, including oneself.

If you believe in the idea that we are all one consciousness, that the idea of “me” is just an illusion of separation, then this is a practice that dissolves that boundary between self and not-self. When we give, no longer are we thinking of ourselves. No longer are we the tiny ego, the small self, the selfish person. If we are genuinely kind, we become – for that brief moment – connected to something far bigger, far more majestic.

Other teachings say that whatever you give comes back to you, since we are all interconnected. If we all swim in the same ocean, then whatever we spread outwards also affects us. Would you put kindness or hatred into the ocean that you yourself swim in?

This can have psychological benefits too – caring for a beloved pet is a proven effective way to reduce depression. Giving kindness, whoever the recipient is, makes you feel better.

If you don’t believe in any of this, then you will have lived a kind and generous life for its own sake.

We cannot give with expectation of a reward. Not even a “thank you”. It is very easy to fall into the trap of giving for the sake of receiving. And this “temptation” returns again and again. When I first made the decision to be kind to everyone, I did it without any expectations of return, which is how it should be. But over the months that followed, I noticed how everyone reacted to me – people treated me kindly, went out of their way for me, gave me lots of approval. This was something I craved, so this temptation had come back in – I wanted their affection and approval, and that had contaminated my kindness. It was kindness at first, but became corrupted further down the road.

In fact, there were deeper levels to this false giving. This kindness came from a secret feeling of worthlessness. That I will not be liked for who I am, so at least I will be liked for my giving. This was unknown and hidden from me at first, and can be quite hard to see, so look especially hard for similar motivations in yourself.

Even worse, false giving won’t heal any deeper insecurities you might have. In my case, it didn’t heal my hidden sense of worthlessness at all – because the appreciation and kindness I got back never reached it.If YOU give from a mask, then the appreciation YOU get only reaches that mask, and not my heart.

This just leads to more frustration, and a deepening insecurity. Sometimes we even hate ourselves for our false giving, because on some level, we know it isn’t genuine.

This simple decision can be hard at times; it is something that I am still practicing. But the more I practice, the more I see the truth in the old saying – Happiness comes not from being loved, but from loving. Loving is its own reward.

INFORMATION ABOUT STROKE

INFORMATION  EVERYONE SHOULD  KNOW.....

Blood Clots / Stroke - They Now Have a Fourth Indicator,  the Tongue

I  will continue to forward this every time it  comes around!
STROKE: Remember  the 1st Three Letters.... S. T. R.

STROKE  IDENTIFICATION:

During a BBQ, a friend  stumbled and took a little fall - she assured  everyone that she was fine (they offered to call  paramedics). She said she had just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes.

They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of  food. While she appeared a bit shaken up, Ingrid  went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening

Ingrid's husband called later  telling everyone that his wife had been taken to  the hospital - (at 6:00  pm  Ingrid passed away.) She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Ingrid would be with  us today. Some don't die. They end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead.

It  only takes a minute to read this...

A  neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke  victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the  effects of a stroke... totally. He said  the trick was getting a stroke recognized,  diagnosed, and then getting the patient  medically cared for within 3 hours, which is  tough.

RECOGNIZING A STROKE

Thank  God for the sense to remember the '3' steps, STR.

Read and Learn!

Sometimes symptoms of a  stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately,  the lack of awareness spells disaster. The  stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage  when people nearby fail to recognize the  symptoms of a stroke.

Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three  simple questions:

S *Ask  the individual to SMILE.

T *
Ask  the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE  (Coherently - i.e. It is sunny out  today.)

R
*Ask  him or her to RAISE BOTH  ARMS.
If  he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these  tasks, call emergency number immediately  and describe the symptoms to the  dispatcher.

New  Sign of a Stroke -------- Stick out Your Tongue

NOTE:  Another 'sign' of a stroke is this: Ask the  person to 'stick' out his tongue.. If the tongue  is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the  other
,  that is  also an indication of a  stroke.

A  cardiologist says if everyone who gets this  e-mail sends it to 10 people; you can bet that  at least one life will be saved.

I  have done my part. Will  you?
