Disable: Runtime error messages in Internet Explorer

runtime error is a software or hardware problem that prevents a program from working correctly. Runtime errors might cause you to lose information in the file you’re working on, cause errors in the file (corrupt the file) so you can’t work with it, or prevent you from using a feature. Unlike stop errors, runtime errors don’t typically cause Windows or a program to stop working.

At times, while while browsing the Internet with your Internet Explorer on Windows 7, while visiting a particular webpage, you may receive a Error box, stating that a Runtime error has occured.

A Runtime Error has occured. Do you wish to Debug?

This message is followed by Line number and the Error.
How to fix this error depends on the error meddage and in most times you as a common user may not want to or even need to fix these types of errors.
What you can do, is that you can disable these error messages from appearing. To do so, open Internet Options and under the Advanced tab, navigate to Browsing.

Here under Browsing section, check the first two and un-check the third check-box:
  • Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer)
  • Disable script debugging (Other)
  • Display a notification about every script error
Click Apply/OK.
To see if it has fixed the proble, refresh the webpage which gave you this runtime error. The box will now not appear, although you will still see in the IE status bar a notifification about the Web page error.
Alternatively, you can also download and use Microsoft Fix it 50043 to let Microsoft fix the problem for you. Simply follow the steps in the Disable Microsoft Internet Explorer Script Debugging Wizard.

How to determine how much memory a program is using

Microsoft Windows users
  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc on the keyboard to open the Windows Task Manager.
  2. In the Task Manager window click the Processes tab if not already selected.

As can be seen by the above example picture, in the Processes tab you'll see each of the running processes including how much memory they're using. For example, the highlighted firefox.exe is using over 1GB of memory.
Clicking the Memory column title will allow you to sort the programs by how much memory they're using. In the above example, we're sorting the programs from the most used memory to the least used memory.

No commercial calls, unwanted SMS from Today

TRAI clears confusion over SMS limit, exempts certain services
Regulator TRAI has exempted various service providers, including the dealers of telecom operators, e-ticketing agencies and social networking sites, from the new limit of one hundred SMSes per day per SIM, which was imposed to block pesky calls and messages.
On 5th September, after much delay, Trai had come out with recommendations to stop pesky calls and text messages from 27th September, ordering that no access provider (operators) shall permit the transmission of more than 100 SMSes per day per SIM.
"Hereby directs all access providers to exclude the following persons from the limit of one hundred SMS per day per SIM -- dealers of the telecom service providers and DTH operators for sending request for electronic recharge on mobile numbers," Trai said in a statement on Tuesday.
The directive from the regulator had come in the wake of concerns raised by telecom lobby COAI on limiting the SMS entitlement per SIM to 100 per day.

It will also exempt e-ticketing agencies for responding to e-ticketing request made by its customers, SMSes from social networking sites Facebook, Twitter, Orkut, LinkedIn and GooglePlus to their members in connection to activities relating to their accounts, based on verifiable options; and agencies providing directory services, such as Justdial, Zatse, Callezee, Getit and Askme, Trai added.
Earlier, COAI had asked Trai to reconsider its recommendation to limit the number of SMSes per sim to 100 per day, saying that such a regulation may pose a potential challenge to the "fundamental rights" of an ordinary users.
There are several instances where SMSes are an important mode of communication.
There could be a situation where a customer has exhausted the limit and suddenly some emergency occurs, COAI had said.
Further, this limit will not also be applicable on "blackout days" (festive occasions), when the customer is free to send as many messages he wants.
In the case of post-paid telephone numbers, the access provider shall not permit more than 3,000 SMSes per SIM per month, the Trai recommendations had said.
However, Trai said, "The access provider shall, before excluding the persons, obtain an undertaking from such person that he shall not use the said facility in any manner for sending commercial communications."

Subscribers have the option of choosing to be under the 'Fully Blocked' category, which is akin to the 'Do Not Call Registry'.
If a user selects the 'Partially Blocked' category, he/she will receive SMSes in categories chosen.
For registering under the fully blocked list, a customer has to SMS 'START 0' to 1909.

Google celebrates 13th birthday with doodle

The Google doodle celebrating the search engine's 13th birthday

Now officially a teenager, Google has celebrated turning 13 in its customarily simple manner with a doodle showing the five letters of the company logo sitting around a cake.
With the search engine giant barely out of short trousers, the birthday celebrations come at a time when it is locked in an increasingly intense rivalry with an even younger pretender, Facebook.
Amid suggestions that Facebook could become the default form of online navigation, Google recently tried to overhaul its rival with Google+.
Research from Nielsen earlier this month showed that US internet users spend more time on Facebook than any other website.
At the same time, Google enjoys a 90% share of the global internet search market, according to the most recent figures from metrics firm StatsCounter, although its share varies considerably by country.
The doodle is in keeping with Google's low-key approach to celebrating its birthday. Unlike other doodles, it has no animated features and is based instead on a simple design.

Things To Be Taken Care Of While Trying An Online Recharge

Online Recharge – The Service that makes many people to have a curve on their face while on the other side this word itself irritates some people leaving bad experiences.
Today we just wanted to share some tips for our beloved TT readers who are willing to try an online recharge as well as for those who are facing problems while making payment through Online Gateway, credit or Debit cards as we have received many Comments and Problems in our previous reviews on Online Recharge Portals.
First of all Why an Online Recharge?
1.The first and the foremost thing is convenience-Anytime Any Where.
2.The next is Time saving, we can sit and do it just at our place-Home or office, some services even support recharge through a Mobile Application and Payment.
3.Some Operators may provide special Talk Time and Offers if an Online Recharge is done through their site.
Which Operators are providing an online Recharge Service?

Starting from Government owned Network BSNL almost all Operators are providing online Recharge facilities except Uninor. But we are sure that very soon Uninor also comes up with an Online Recharge Portal. But each operator differs in their service and style of providing the service. These Online Recharge service provided by the respective operators are a free service while some Online Recharge portals charge a minimal fees for the service. This depends on your selection.
Things you should be taken care of before trying an Online Recharge.
1.Never ever try Online Recharges for the first time with High Recharge Values, if anything goes wrong you will be messed up again so have a trail recharge with lesser amounts available.
2.Even though all the Browsers support secure payment Gateway always use Internet Explorer (mostly preferred) and the next preferred is Mozilla Firefox followed by Opera because there needed some redirection and scripts that need action between web pages from payment gateway to recharge portal redirection which the latest or beta browsers have no enhanced support inbuilt.
3.Always use an Antivirus/Spyware program and ensure that your system is Virus/spyware free before you make any online payment, also make sure that there are no active Key loggers in your system because they may track the username and passwords which you keystroke into the portal.
4) Never dare to try any online Recharge on Public or Share computers unless you take the whole responsibility and aware of the circumstances.
5) Never Press F5 or Refresh your page while you are in the middle of a transaction, this makes your entire transaction which is a pipelined process to go wrong or fail.
6) Be sure to check if the connection is secure or not by observing the address link (usually a lock symbol) else you may be landed on a phishing page.
7) Ensure that you have a good Working Internet Connectivity at the time of recharge, sometimes you can feel your ISP is be down with slow page loading experiences, avoid recharges during those times.
8 ) Always note down the transaction details, so that they come in handy in case of failed transactions.
9) And the last thing is proceed only if everything is under your control.
Just some more points:
No Online recharge Service provider or portal will cheat their “Valuable Customers” with failed recharge transactions wantedly because there is no individual who is sitting at the system and processing your Recharge Payment Requests 24X7 and decide to make your Recharges successful or fail.
It’s all a Computer operated process that does automatically from the website side, but there will be human people who give support for your failed transactions. So, leave the belief that it is the website cheating customers. We have used many Online Recharge Portals and now once again our experience confirms that No System is neither 100% Perfect nor bad. It depends on the steps and measures you follow. Also everything should be good from the payment side too for you recharge to be successful.
If there is any failed transaction (Power failure or any other problem with payment) there will an alternate backup channel both from the bank side as well as from the Website’s side so that they get information regarding the failed transactions separately.
This process usually takes about 3-7 days as the backup channel data is not always available with the Recharge Portal. They take this data in failed groups and this takes time. Also for the Refund of your money even though the Recharge portal reverts the amount within 3-4 days it takes time for your bank to give a statement for the refund as all the refunds will have another channel working for them.
And we are sorry to say that under some worst situations in very rare cases during payment redirection when the communication between the Portal and your payment bank is lost after payment is made, your recharge data will not be recorded and you have no proof of Recharge but amount will be deducted from your bank though amount is not transferred to recharge portal.
In those cases please contact your bank support and explain them the situation they may consider the situation some times and revert your amount back. There are even some worst situations where there is no data at all for the failed transactions and even the support cannot help you out, this occurs very rarely.
We decided to make such a long post on this Topic because it deserves your attention and understanding “After all it is that service and support that brings fame to any Service provided”.
Hope you follow the tips we shared and make things easier as sharing is caring, we care for our readers. Make best use of the services provided by the operators for free –Happy Online Recharging!

Internet Connection Sharing on Windows XP

This trick shows you how to share your internet connections on multiple computers within a workgroup with Windows XP. Windows XP has a built-in feature that called "Internet Connection Sharing" (ICS) that allows home users to share their internet connections on multiple computers.
If you are not familiar with the network configurations, the easiest way to share your internet connection is to purchase a router or hub. Use this trick only if you don't have a router, or don't want to use a router, or if you just want to try out the feature.
A simple way to understand this feature is, you are making your host computer (the computer directly connects to the internet) functioning as a router for other computers.

What do you need?

  • A "Host" computer that running Windows XP. This computer must have at least TWO (2) network adapters. One adapter - let's call it "Adapter #1" - connects to the internet and another, "Adapter #2", connects to a hub or directly to other computers.
  • Client computer(s), which run any version of Windows. A client computer can be connected to the host computer directly by a cross-over cable or indirectly through a hub.
  • This trick assumes that the host computer is connected to the internet and you are able to access the internet on this computer.

Configure the Host Computer
  1. Logon the host computer as Administrator.
  2. Click Start >> Control Panel.
  3. Click Network and Internet Connections.
  4. Click Network Connections.
  5. Right-click the connection that you use to connect to the internet (the connection with Adapter #1). This connection can be either a high-speed internet connection or a dial-up connection.
  6. Click Properties.

  10. Click OK. You'll reieve the following message:
When Internet Connection Sharing is enabled, your LAN adapter will be set to use IP address 192.168.0.1. Your computer may lose connectivity with other computers on your network. If these other computers have static IP addresses, it is a good idea to set them to obtain their IP addresses automatically. Are you sure you want to enable Internet Connection Sharing?
  11. Click Yes.
Configure the Client Computer(s)
To use the shared connection from the Host computer, a client computer must be configured with "Automatic IP address". The main configurations are:
  1. Configure TCP/IP Automatic IP
  2. Configure Internet Connection
The steps for the above two configurations are vary on different versions of Windows.
The following procedures are for Windows XP client computers.
  1. Log on to the client computer as Administrator or as Owner.
  2. Click Start >> Control Panel.

10 Advantages of Using Gmail for Internet E-mail

Shopping for an e-mail service is akin to shopping for detergent at SuperDuperMart: a mile aisle with 5,000 products that don’t differ very much. The little differences, however, are what make the BIG difference, and e-mail shopping is the same way. Gmail might be termed “new and improved”, to the point where someone who feels trapped in a Hotmail or Comcast account might wish to consider a change. Some of the more salient advantages of gmail are listed below.

1.     Speed – Gmail loads quickly, and sends and receives at a good rate, a definite plus if rapid back-and-forth communications are necessary. In addition, threaded conversations are boiled down to a single line on the Inbox page, and a single click will take the user to the entire thread.

2.     Capacity – Seven gigabytes of storage are available for free, which can help if a user needs to hold on to e-mails for a long time before deleting them.
3.     Cost – This is a “free” service, though there are add-ons available for a price, and most people will only need the free components.
4.     Spam – Some people like Spam, the tinned meat product, but nobody likes the spam a computer can cook-up, and gmail has effective filters to stop most spam.
5.     Availability – Devised to work with all browsers and operating systems, gmail is a Post Office Protocol 3 (POP3), which means it is a completely online system, and can be accessed anywhere that has Internet service.
6.     HTTPS – Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure, or HTTPS, is a security measure whereby the user is provided with encrypted and authenticated communications, particularly valuable if you need to access your account from a public location.
7.     Chat – Instant chat is available, as well as voice and video chat features, and everything can be added to your iGoogle.
8.     Search – Need to find a message? The search function on gmail enables users to track that message down instantly.
9.     Have gmail Will Travel – Travelers will like the ability to access their e-mail anywhere from a phone, which allows for more complete communications than a service like Twitter.
10.  Multi-task – Another nice feature of gmail is that the user cannot only have multiple accounts but can also manage them simultaneously on a single page. This is great for any household where members want their own account, and also works well when users may need to separate business mail from personal mail.
Just as Hotmail seemed to be a leader of the innovative pack a few years ago, today gmail is forging to the front with its performance and multiplicity of applications.
